My first time

I’ve done it hundreds, if not thousands of time!

Trade shows, congresses, big events. I was there!

After all those years doing it, I was not fully prepared for my first open studio.

Admiration and appreciation are the words that came to my mind when I thought of all artists who have been doing this for years, for life!

Let me tell you: it is much easier to show up when someone else is paying you to be there than when you have to be there to get paid. If you know what I mean.

I met so many interesting people and had great conversations.

After that, I’m feeling different: a mix of bravery, curiosity, excitement.

Ceramics and arts have opened my mind to so many different things.

Now, as I prepare to my next show in few weeks, I’ll take advantage of one of the lessons learned when you do ceramics: there’s time, in between, when you just trust need to trust the process. It is a moment where you just wait for the magic to happen.

I’ll use my time to recharge my batteries and enjoy my family. They came all the way from Brazil to spend Thanksgiving with me. I couldn’t have asked for more.

My first time was unforgettable!!!
